So, the other night, in desperation, I ripped open a pack on new maternity underwear that a friend had given me. At 26 weeks, I get tired of my underwear rolling down under my belly all the time and I was hoping a pair of these bad-boys would remedy that situation...
WRONG.
Saying they were less than flattering was the understatement of 2009....they came up to just inches below my bust line and had excess fabric flapping in the lower front....not to mention the gaps in the leg openings and excess fabric in the trunk area.... I think I could have invited a few friends to join me inside them. What was even more comical than just the idea of trying these on (which would have been harmless had I been alone) was Mike's reaction to them...
Let's just say, I don't think he is ever going to recover from the scarring to his vision. The underwear were promptly given the title, "Sex Repellant" and he now thinks that even my most unflattering non-maternity underwear are the sexiest things ever. Even that pair that we all grab when we are waiting for Aunt Flo to arrive...I guess he didn't know how good he had it when those were the most modest pair in the drawer...
A friend said Old Navy is the place to go for cuter maternity underwear, so I am going to check it out later this week...anyone else have any suggestions?
And, since I was tagged on Facebook, here is a fun little mommy survey....and if you are reading this, consider yourself tagged as well!
The Mama Survey....

Yes, we did. I really just wanted to know. I am glad we found out.

As an uncomfortable pregnant woman, I would have to say DADS.
14. What is the best piece of advice you could give to someone who is about to have their first child?
Your birth experience is an important part of your life. Take a class, read a book, and hire a doula-- go natural!

Yes, I always wanted to be a mom.
16. What's been the biggest surprise about motherhood?

19. Do you plan to have any more children?
I plan to deliver the one I am currently baking, and then I think we will call it good.
20. Who's the mom that you admire most?
This is a tough one to answer. I have learned a lot about what to do and what NOT to do from watching various moms. I think that along the way, I have always just done what is best for us.
